So we are reassigning my daughter her Godfather because her so called Godfather now has only seen her once since she was born (July 12th) and doesn't even talk to us or ask us how she's doing. There are a few guys who want to be her new GF and they are all really great with her and are really close friends of ours. I'm just not sure how to decide who....

He literally hasn't been in her life at all. He has seen her for like an hour tops her entire life. She basically doesn't have one so we are reassigning her a better one that we know will be there for her, especially if something happens to us.

@beebaby I don't really think there are rules. They are just friends of ours that we personally asked if they would help us take care of our kids if anything ever happened to us. They're like backup parents and security for our daughter

Technically godparents are only supposed to keep your kids in your faith if you passed on. It's your decision if you want them to take over parenting if you were to pass.
