When is a good time to switch out the crib for a bed? My daughter rolls so much I'm afraid of her falling off if I put her in a bed now.

When my son started climbing out of the crib we put his crib mattress on the floor. It works well before getting a larger bed that is higher off the floor

When you feel your child is ready. I got my daughter one when she turned one and she's been sleeping in it since. She doesn't fall out. I tell her to go get in bed and she does. I follow and tuck her in.

@kmharr3, thanks! I was just curious. My daughter can't even walk yet, so I don't think I'll switch her just yet.

I waited to switch my daughter until she started climbing out of her crib and it became a safety issue, which was around 2 years old Unless you need the crib for a new baby I'd wait to transition her. Once she's in a toddler bed you can always get one of those removable side rails so she doesn't roll or put a pool noodle under the sheet. But I wouldn't be too eager to switch her because sometimes when kids get into toddler beds they realize that they can get out and play with toys or whatever instead of sleeping which is a whole different issue
