How do you comfort someone who doesnt want to but needs it?

Im so bad at this.

My s/o cousin passed away everyone is saying it was suicide but from evidence and the scene it was murder. Only witness was his gf when "he" did it. Which is suspicious and she keeps changing the story of what happened..

This is just 10 days before his dads death anniversary (idk if thats how ill put it) and about 2-3 weeks for his other cousins. Its been 6years. And it was a day after my birthday and 2 days after his cousins birthday. April is not his months and im so helpless idk how to be there for him ive never experienced any of this with my family im so emotional but i cant cry because my girls they already see him and everyone around them doing and are just so confused ;(
