We waited until my daughter was 4 and son was 3. I'm glad we did because a puppy is a baby itself...an undiapered baby that is teething on everything.

I am going to do the same! But I wanted to wait till he got older around 5 or 6 so he knows and he can help me pick one out that he likes!! It's a pain waiting.. but it's worth it!!

Okay thanks for the point of view of some people that own dogs with puppies

I wouldn't get a dog till she's about 3 or 4 years old.

All 3 of them where older dogs. We had to put one down but the other one we just got is 8 months, so already trained, and her and our daughter are best friends!

I think it's a great idea! We had 3 dogs with my baby, 2 now but now our daughter is so good with any animal!

I had a grown dog and even that was too much for me 😥 I'd suggest just visiting with dogs as much as possible. Keep your life simple

I'm by no means saying you would do that, but it happens A LOT because getting a puppy is basically like getting another really messy baby I say wait until she's 2 or 3 and then get her a puppy that way she's old enough to interact but not so small that they puppy could really injure her

Bad idea I worked at a clinic and volunteered at a shelter so so so many people had that idea and then realized how hard it is to train a puppy with a small baby and gave them up

A puppy is sooooo much work. It will be crazy at your house with a puppy and a baby.

@raquely, I know she isn't because my partner brother has a dog and he always sits next to her car seat and she has not reacted any sign of allergy

Bad. We just did that and it's a pain in the butt and way too much on me haha
