Can someone advise me on how to burp a newborn who's difficult to burp. I often spend the best part of half an hour trying to get him to burp/spit up after a feed and I know he needs it because he cries with pain/discomfort and it's horrible not being able to help him properly. Just wondering if there's any techniques or tips I can use which I haven't tried.

I used to hold my lo on my knee hold his head and lean him back and forth stop then pat his back or I stood up bounced a little and patted at the same time. Took a while to get a good position for him x

Keeping moving him in different positions it will hopefully work his way out. I think also farting counts as old wind coming out too? If that's any help x

Try laying him across your lap and burping him there whilst moving your legs at the same time. Luke had trouble bringing wind up a couple of times and my auntie showed me this way and straight away the wind came up. Also sometimes just moving their position can help to bring up wind xx

Try holding him horizontally, his head by your elbow and your hand under his belly and rub/pat his back- it seemed to work for me😊 x
