Had the baby at 11:08am today .. Got my placenta around 1pm ... It hasn't been in the fridge since then, Can I keep it on ice overnight till morning time for my mom to pick it up to put in the freezer ? Will it be fine as long as I keep it on plenty of ice ? Hospital won't keep it in fridge for me :(

@ericardz89, some women will save their placenta and have it sent off to be turned into capsules... which she will then take daily!! Eating or ingesting the placenta is VERY GOOD for you!! 😊

And yes you can keep it on ice but make sure its packed well and you change the ice like every hr because really it should be in the fridge after 4hrs

Yes. The placenta is ok at room temp for 3 to 4 hrs
