What's the rules on getting a tattoo while breastfeeding? Can you? I heard you can't but, I know someone who got one and everything was ok.

I am breastfeeding did lots of research and asked my doctor. I didn't do it but you are able to. The ink does not get into the breastmilk

You can get a tattoo while breastfeeding. It depends on your artist if they will tattoo you. Also it's at your own risk when it comes to infections.

Oh wow. Yes he's only 5 months just turned 5 yesterday. I'll just be patient and wait. I'm not going to be selfish. I've waiting this long so I'll keep waiting

How old is your baby? The first year after pregnancy is tough. Your body has to work itself out. Hormones, skin changes, blood levels, other stuff like that. With ANY piercing or tattoo pregnant or not, there is a chance of infection. If you get a piercing or tattoo in the first year there is a greater chance of infection, or rejection. It could work out PERFECTLY for some, but awful for others. If you decide to get something done, pump A LOT for storage and save it for the first few weeks after you get it done

There is always a possibility of getting infection. Even when everything is clean. I have never had a an infected tattoo but it's still possible. Skin collects germs.

@beebaby agreed but, even if everything is clean it's still a possibility? Ill just wait until I'm done breastfeeding. I made it this far.

Rule of thumb. Just because others do it and they are okay doesnt mean you will be too. Only possibility is infection so if you happen to get infected after the tattoo I probably wouldn't breastfeed but that is up to you.
