My period has been all messed up lately. Like the month before last my period was 5 days late, then last month it was 3 days late, now here I am...I was supposed to start yesterday. We already have a hard time conceiving. Is this considered a irregular period? Can it make it more difficult being off by those few days? Of course I havent tested yet bc like I said I have been late for the past few months now. However if I don't start by tomorrow I might go ahead and test so I know if I should expect my period or not.

You need to look back on at least 6 months of periods to get an average. My average cycle is 25 days but last month it was 29 days, the cycle before that was 21. Anything between 21-35 is average. And if you're steady at an average outside of that range, it may be your normal.
But no, that's not irregular. Unfortunately, mine are. Sometimes I bleed for 7 days, sometimes only 2. My luteal phase is borderline too short. I ovulate literally right after my period or right before. I don't have an average day of the month when I ovulate.

Also, either track your BBT or use strips. Stress, environment changes, etc can throw your cycle off.

I understand the reasons of why it could possibly be late I just dont dont know how many days off until its consitered irregular? @kmechellec

@mother.of.angels, you need to calculate your average for cycle length & days of period. You should also keep track of it on a calendar or an app so you can look at it yourself. You should have 6-12 months worth of data to really see a cycle. As long as it's between 21-35 day cycle it's considered normal.
