My daughters name will be Tae'Briahn because that's what my mom was going to name me but she let my dad name me. My mom passed away when I was 14 so I'm doing that in honor of my mom. Everyone doesn't really understand it because most people on my fiancé side of the family doesn't know my mom passed away. I do t say anything unless they ask about her

My mom did the same to me when she thought maybe i was having a girl. I have 2 sisters named after her. When she found out im having a boy she wanted me to name him after my dad which i have one sister named after him lol. I said the same thing Im sticking to what I Chose for my son. Lol @twinpeanut

@twinpeanut I'm named after seven generations of women (both first and middle). My husband and I have have decided on a unique, none family name for our daughter and I'm getting the guilt trips from my mom and 88 year old Italian grandma that I'm very close to. I'm with you, different name if there is already that name in the family.
