Most times unless you go into labor before your scheduled c section date. So say your dr sets your csection day for 39 weeks but you go into labor on your own at 38 weeks, you would go to the hospital while in labor and then get the csection. It really just depends on what happens with your body.

I'm supposed to do a c section. I'm getting super anxious though hearing horror stories. Both vaginal and c section births... but my baby is growing fast and there's other health complications.. so c section is probably for the best

@exoticyuri, I've never had one but it's major surgery. I know women who have had them with no complications during or after. There will be horror stories on both ends.

If you have a planned c-section and you go into labor before your section date you deliver vaginally. If thers a serious complication that is making you have a c-section but you go into labor they will still do the c-section if its absolutely necessary. But you can very well go into labor.

I've never heard of that before. Normally a c-section is a last resort kind of thing, if your perfectly capable of having a vaginally delivery. I guess thats good though that you have that option.

@noahs.mommy, my teacher told me about her daughters delivery. She had s panic attack during or something and was "scared to push" so they opened her up .
