Is Gaining Weight During Pregnancy a Blessing or a Curse?
26 weeks and 3 days. The babys big. Keep in mind 26 weeks ago i weighed 113lbs. Now i weigh 140lbs. Im not ashamed of the weight. Im greatful. I was under weight before the baby. 113lbs at 5 ft 6.5 ins tall. I shouldve been 125lbs. But i wasnt. I was at a dangerous weight before the baby, i also suffered from constant cysts on my overies, and after being on bc ended up with endometeriosis. Until this baby i was on the border line of being in the hostpital because of my weight and in constant pain because of the history of reproductive system problems. I was going into sugery for endometerosis on Oct. 19th 2016 when the pregnancy test came back positive and the surgery was canceled. For the past 26 weeks i havent been in any pain, and the weight ive gained everyone says i look healthier now.
My baby is a blessing. The pain is gone, and though endometeriosis is a cronic deasie, because of this baby it may not come back.
The weight i know will shed off after the babys born. Espically since ill be breast feeding. I wish the weight would stay, but unfortantly my bodys not that way. Ive struggled to keep my weight up for as long as i can remember. I will end up continuing that struggle. While some may think having the ability to eat anything you want, as much as you want and never gain weight is a blessing; take it from someone who has struggled with it all their life. Its not a blessing. Its a curse. So if you struggle to keep your weight down be happy. Your normal. Im not, and as much as i enjoy how i look now; i didnt back then. Not when you could see every bone in my body. (The reason why i wore baggy clothes) So what im trying to say is be proud of how you look. Because, thin is not always beautiful.

I know exactly how you feel when it comes to needing weight...I've struggled my whole life to gain weight and it's just impossible...before I got pregnant this time I only weighed 87lbs and now at 16 weeks I've only gained 10lbs so far...you are right thin is not always beautiful sometimes its a curse...

@tiffrc15 sadly alot of people dont get that. Some people would do anything to have our problem. And others they even starve themselves to look like us. They dont seem to understand how dangerous it is.

It is dangerous I would love to gain about 30 lbs and keep it

@tiffrc15 my doctors kept threatening to put me in the hostpital with a feeding tube if i ever dropped bellow 113lbs. Well thing is it took until 8th grade for me to get above 100lbs. Doesnt sound bad right? Well it was because the only weight i had was what muscle i could gain. Its always been that way. Women are supposed to have at least 5% body fat to function properly. The only reason why i was functioning normally is because i grew up with less that 1% body fat. So my body kinda adapted.

Lord the day I graduated high school I only weighed 98 lbs

@tiffrc15 yeah doesnt help when the condition causes you to well...at least mine did...it caused me to gain a random amount of weight and then in a month loose twice that amount even if i was eating the same
Tiffany Williams·
Yes I do that to every time I think I'm gaining finally it would just disappear

@tiffrc15 its like yay i have weight! Never mind...lol but whats worse is that i espically have to eat as healthy as i can because even with this condition i could still get my dads diabeties.
Tiffany Williams·
I don't have that problem but anything sweet or sugary puts me straight to sleep or makes me sick

@tiffrc15 yea. To much sugar makes me fall asleep to. But thats bc i have ADHD. Uppers are downers.

@tiffrc15 i can only hope that its like we were, able to control it enough to not be on pills for it. The other thing im hoping is that our child doesnt have my weight problem. To be honest your the first person ive talked to that has the same problem i do. I knew there had to be someone, but i was unsure bc no one ever understood what its like. Our condition is caused by our motabs being extremely high. Some people think its normal but its not. Our motabs are at least 2x higher than a normal high motab.

Your right no one understands the that our size and high metabolism is a curse not a choice

@tiffrc15 if i had a choice i would choose to struggle to keep my weight down
Tiffany Williams·
You ain't kidding its a struggle either way but even if we are able to gain weight doesn't change anything in our eyes we still feel too skinny.

@tiffrc15 true. While everyone else wants to be our size, we wish we were bigger
Tiffany Williams·
Exactly.
