Rant 🕢 but I am losing my mind over how much and often Noah is sick.
The smell alone is enough to make anyone feel a bit crazy, and then there's the constant changing of clothes (mines, his, my partner's), and bedding; the amount of muslins and bibs that we go through; me trying to stay upright 90% of the night in case it's reflux (resulting in a crappy sleep; being too scared to have him sleep in his Moses in case he's sick without me realising & something awful happens; the fact that puking so much causes him to have constant hiccups (which causes him obvious discomfort); and to top it all off, it makes me feel like I'm doing something wrong as I exclusively breastfeed and all of the suggestions about sicky babies online include: changing your diet, your positioning, how often you feed them, etc.
I didn't mind so much when it was obviously spit up milk but it's almost like curdled milk now, and there's so much of it, so quickly after every feed 😩 the HV says he's fine because his weight gain is really good, but I have that niggle in the back of head telling me that it's not the same as just having a baby who possets because they've eaten too much
@happychamp16 no don't be sorry at all, honestly, thank you for taking the time to write something that I can relate to. I have the 6 week check up with my GP on Tuesday so I will be discussing everything with them then. I just hate seeing him sore and uncomfortable. My HV is actually very nice but she's a trainee and she's awfully shy, so she doesn't fill me with much confidence, especially when she's telling me it's all fine when I am quite sure that it isn't. I'm glad that you have managed to get your referral for Harriet. Hopefully the GP is able to sort something out for Noah too! X
Harriet as been having problems like this @sian4t2 , when it first happened so much milk come back up it was just pouring from her mouth and nose and it didnt just frighten me it frightened her she couldnt get her breath and went beserk! She gets hiccups constantly which irritate her and getting wind from her is a nightmare But harriets got a tongue tie which wev been told is the most likely cause to her problems so wer being refered to hospital soon to have it snipped 😣 i cant believe a hv as dismissed it as nothing its quite clear hes got bad reflux and its affecting him and you? Its her job to help when youv a problem! The midwifes dismissed my concerns over harriets tongue it was my hv who listened to me and as put the referal in for the tongue tie clinic for us because i told her its not only affecting my baby its affecting me and getting me really down! Sorry for the woffle i just no how frustrating it is when you no your baby and no something isnt right yet the people who are supposed to help dismiss us and make us feel helpless x
@littleelf85 I've been letting him sleep on my chest during the night too, at least for the first little while until I think it might have settled in his tummy. I'll definitely try the other things aswell though, thank you. Did you find that it just got better over time?
