Cruise ship, Cancun, Disney,. Honestly i would talk to a travel agent. Sometimes they have amazing deals.

Check travelzoo for specials. I always find great deals on there. Last month hubs and I went to Paris for $1400 which included roundtrip air + 4 star hotel for 5 nights, 6 days for the both of us.

As far as places... i love any place tropical to relax and unwind. Phuket, Thailand is super cheap b'coz of the exchange rate. So $2k will get you far.

Best time to search and book airfare is Tuesday night into Wednesday early morning. Use Google flights or Kayak.

If you can't travel far but like the idea of tropical. Check Royal Caribbean for 3, 4, 5 or 7 day cruises to the Caribbean islands. It's like a travel buffet! Nice way to visit a few places in a short time.

@yudith93, I checked Groupon I didn't see anything other then like Atlantic City and the small stuff, @ginz, I checked ok cruises but I would have to fly to get on the ship there are no cruises that go out around where I am until 2018 and the cruise plus air is worse then just flying straight to the destination. I'm thinking Punta Cana, or Miami.
