I pulled a list of baby essentials from pintrest esp since shes my first baby.

Diapers, onesies, burp cloths, bottles, crib, mattress, linens for crib, car seat, stroller, butt ointment, baby wash, powder, ointment for his peepee if he gets circumcised, etc

Formula or breast pump supplies

My daughter is 8 months and has yet to sleep in her crib lol. I have a pack and play and a bouncer chair. The bouncer chair was an absolute amazing thing (I don't think you need a crib AND a pack and play to be honest) but the bouncer chair helped her for so many months, she had a little reflux issue so it kept her at an angle, vibrates and plays soft music she literally is just growing out of it. She slept in it overnights for her first almost 6 months. It was a lifesaver. I have a boba wrap, because I initially bought a carrier when she was new new and it was too big for her. But of course she hates the wrap as well, lmao. I'm sure there are carriers out there though. Try going to babies r us and see if they let you try any with baby in it. Def need bottles, wipes, diapers, bibs, blankets, pacifiers if you use them, etc. a couple of toys, rattles, toys for teething. Don't go crazy. see what he likes first and go from there. I bought so much stuff and never used over half of it. And of course while pregnant opened everything and cleaned them so I can't even return them.

You can use a carrier with a newborn as long as they meet the weight requirements and the carrier says it's ok for newborns, such as tula or ergo with the insert, Moby wrap, etc. I would make sure you have a nose frida, saline, hygiene stuff such as a brush, nail clippers, diaper cream, a thermometer, baby soap (I recommend Shea moisture baby, NOT j&j), make sure you have wash cloths, Burp cloths, small blankets, laundry hamper, diaper genie or trash can, rock n play, Lotion, q tips (you may need them to clean around ears, Not in. Or to clean umbilical cord if it gets gross) bottles, can of Formula if you plan on bottle feeding if Breast feeding I'd get Nipple pads, nursing bra, Nipple cream, diapers, wipes (not to many of each size, different brands just incase baby is allergic) car seat (please find a cpst in your area to make sure the car seat in installed properly, you can call your local fire station and see if they are certified to check your car seat, not all police stations, fire stations, nurses are certified so please check.

I used a Moby wrap to carry my little one... I'm a minimalist... so I'd say all you need are nursing pads, burp cloths, swaddling blankets, a few bottles, nipple cream, I also suggest a nipple shield, a variety of diapers and wash cloths... baby lotion, and mild baby soap... that will pretty much get you through the first few months... maybe some diaper rash cream... I just use plain old Vaseline!
