hey to all you UK based mummies, I just wanted to share a frustration I have. When me and hubby had our perfect baby boy we decided to share the leave in the form of shared parental leave, it was great to all be at home together for 4 months.
But I was so disappointed to find that like 80% of employers my partners company would not enhance his shared parental pay because he was a dad but if he was a mum he would have got full pay for 18 weeks then 80% for another 18 weeks, I could not believe that in 2016 we were discriminating against new daddies this way.
could any of you please sign and share this petition i have found that is trying to get this fixed. I think it would help more familes make the most of there little ones 1st tender months 😊😚.

thanks so much it isn't mine but I do.agree with it, I think dads get a hard time when it comes to paternity and it seems a bit unfair

I agree! My partner got 2 weeks and they were unpaid as he had started at the company a week after the cut off. If you look at the parental leave in Sweden they are so much better with it x

thanks ginny I appreciate your support it does seem unfair for UK Dads, I think people have just accepted that a dads place is at work, but how sexist is that? we are both parents we both need to bond and love our babies. some ppl think it's a war of the sex's but it's a war against employers and discrimination, anybody who can sign and share this petition with like minded people will be helping families in the future.
