Attention Mommies! What helped you make up your mind about choosing between natural birth and using…

My decision is natural.. But if need be, and something goes wrong, then C section.

Your doc shouldn't pressure you. It's up to you. Or when the time comes you'll know. I thought about going natural but didn't research or really prepare. Even though I was relaxed when I got to the hospital. I forgot all about trying for natural when I was there in the hospital. Everything was going smooth. I got induced on pitocin to make the process faster & so I could get contractions. When they came, they sucked, I hated them (duh) & my doctor wasn't there since it was the weekend. A midwife was there & she kept advicing me to get an epidural. & she told me not to wait till it's too late cause the contractions get bad to worse. I couldn't stand them & decided to get the epidural & it helped so much & the rest of my labor was painless & the birth too. Anyways, They both have their pros & cons. My friend adviced me too.. long time ago, she was in labor & in pain & her mom didn't want her to get an epidural so she tried hard to resist but at the end she asked for one. But it was harder since she was so dilated already & having lots of contractions & had a hard time staying still for the epidural. You have to stay still when you get one & it's hard if your having contractions. If you move, it could be dangerous. That's what the midwife also told me..so I chose to get the epidural soon. Anyways, so my friend had to struggle staying still & it's funny cause she had to sign the papers to get the epidural & she signed all crazy since the contractions kept hitting her lol. Anyways, a bad thing about epidural is that you do have a more sensitive back afterwards & have to take care of urself when it's cold, stuff like that. You get more back pain & could feel like a grandma sometimes 😑 IT'S UP TO YOU ☺ Best of luck.

I didn't get it because I heard what happened to my mom and this was at a hospital she worked at but the pain got worse when I hit nine cm but by the time I actually wanted it it was to late I did have iv pain meds though

I chose natural because I didn't want never ending back pain that usually comes along with the epidural.

I'm with momma @teniera as soon as I felt the contractions, I knew I didn't want that anymore.. especially after having 2 natural births..

@jerin having the epidural for your first time can be scary, "for me it was lol" but it's so relaxing..

I wanted the epidural but my doctors didn't check me enough to how much i dilated and ehen they went to get the epidural i already stared pushing my baby out. And honestly i wouldn't change it for the world. They can give u some pain medicine it nocks u out for few hours to help with pain i had the pain medicine i slept for few hours after i woke up i stared having contractions for about hour and had the baby 45 min later. If i have another baby natural is gonna be the way. I pushed less then 45 min and i had my baby! @jerin
