My doctor says if my baby isn't here before 39 weeks he will be inducing me... anyone that has been induced what is it like?
It wasn't that bad honestly I went in at 10pm they put the thing to soften my cervix in at 11pm and baby was born 11pm the 9th and I went in on the 8th
My 1st was 13 hours and by the time I went to the hospital I was 6 cm dilated so it was fast from there @beebaby
I'm already almost 5cm dilated and I came back positive for strep b so he doesn't wanna take the chance of me not getting to the hospital soon enough to get the antibiotics or he'd wait my last one came on his own at 39 weeks. @beebaby @danysmommy
For me it didn't take long. They hooked me up to an iv and started administering the little bit of pill every so often to soften my cervix up. They started that at about 9. Contractions went from about midnight to 6:30am, when my water broke. I got my epidural after that, and about 5 hours later my daughter was born. I really didn't have any issues. I was 41 weeks when they induced me.
I was induced at 40 weeks and wish I would've waited. I realize there's no rush unless baby or mom's health are at risk. A lot of doctors induce for their convenience not the patient's. I was in labor for 18hrs and ended up having a c-section. First one in my family to be induced; first one to have a c-section.
