@hthomas0308 She is doing good so far. Still at NICU, but I should get to see her again within the hour. I can't believe she was early, I was so convinced she would be a late baby.

I'm SO glad you went to the hospital when you did! Congrats!! What a perfect delivery! My girl spent a few days in the NICU... I'm amazed how strong those tiny babies are! Has Daddy been contacted yet? I bet he's going to be SO excited! 😁

@dreamermom He should be contacted soon, I just got a call back from the Red Cross I had to give the nurse here consent to tell them about the baby. So hopefully I get to hear from him soon. For being unprepared things went surprisingly smoothly. She's a little snow baby with this blizzard!

@kaliyahsmommy579 I had no tearing at all. It was actually a lot easier than I had thought. The contractions were tough as they got stronger. But the pushing was easy, she was out very quickly.

@1sttimemoma He was allowed to come home for the weekend I had her but that was it. He's home now though!

@emily526, and did you call Red Cross in general or you called the one where his base was?

@1sttimemoma I called the Red Cross in general. I needed some of his info. Name, rank, duty station, company name, and platoon #. They got ahold of him in maybe 7 or 8 hours and he was then able to contact me. The woman I spoke to from the Red Cross even called us back a few days later to thank us, she said in all her years working that was the first good news she got to deliver.

@emily526, wow that's amazing.. but the thing is he can have his phone I can talk to him whenever I want. We just wanted to know if we depend on Red Cross will they get him here and pay for the flight etc in an reasonable amount of time?

@1sttimemoma I'm not sure if it's the Red Cross that pays for everything. I know in our case his company Commander is the one who sent him home and filled all the paperwork. I gave birth on a Tuesday and he came home Friday and went back Monday.

@emily526, okay great makes sense my husband said they would give him 14 days of leave I guess it depends on the duty station and is your hubby in the Army or what branch?

@1sttimemoma Yes, my husband is in the Army Reserves and I'm going to be going active duty in a few months.
