Moms with only 1 kid; How do you help your child deal with being "lonely" sometimes? Kacey loves…

@raquely, it's hard for a park because it's cold most days. And play dates we don't really know anyone up here and plus I'm very cautious of bringing her around new people until I fully get to know them. It really sucks 😞

One of my daughters lives about two hours away...and I just had my newest addition 3 months ago...before that, my oldest is 4 and lives with us and she has always been like that some of the time unfortunately...she gets lonely..and to fix that we normally bring her to the park or to events or to amaya papaya places like that to interact with other children her age and she loves it. We ask her what she wants to do and if she doesn't have an answer we just pick closest to what her interest seem to be whatever age she is at the time.💖💕💖💕💖💎💎💎💎💎

As an only child, when I was a kid, I would watch tv, play outside, or play with dolls. Lol. My mom also would play board games with me. Still does. Lol. I would also hang out with my 2 older cousins since they lived next door. Then when I was 10, I got into video games and books. Lol.

@heera, I'm so ready for summer so we can actually go places without freezing or getting sick. We've been taking her to grandmas 2 hours away every weekend to get her out the house and she loves it but also it's hard doing that all the time lol. I just feel like such a bad mom because I can't make her not lonely all the time

Your not a bad mom! Your trying thats all that matters. And try doing fun activities with her in the mean time at home. 💖💕💖

@abcooper95, i wasn't an only child but I was always outside doing things by myself because my brother and sister was always older than me. I think this will help know she doesn't need anybody but it's so heartbreaking to see her bored sometimes..

I go through feeling like a bad mom too because caleigha gets lonely too. I try to do puzzles with her or tickle her while we watch tv or chase her around the house. She loves things like that. Once it's warmer out we play in the back yard or walk to our grandmas house. And during summer we'll get pool passes

I am an only child so I definitely grew up very independent and doing things on my own. It's hard but I managed to entertain myself a lot. I understand what you're saying though because we have babies, my 8 month old I go through the same thing. I don't have many friends in my area and I don't have any mom friends. So my daughter is rarely around other babies unfortunately 🙁. Since I'm a sahm and am responsible for doing everything for her and maintaining my house/cooking/cleaning etc, I can't always play with my baby either. What I do is somewhat of a routine with her maybe you can try it and change it up to your home/schedule. I'll do about 30 mins of tv in the am while I have coffee.

throughout the day if I'm home I usually will do these different things for 20-30 mins at a time while I get thing I need to do done.

put her in pack n play with toys (every so often giving her a different one)

Let her go crazy in her Jumperoo (she loves it)

Put her in her big play yard so she can crawl around

I also just bought her a walker so she can follow me around lol

A little bit of independent playtime (as long as someone's watching her) is actually really good for them. So maybe you can try things like that + when she naps.

I live in Ct so it's super winter and super cold so goin outside really isn't happening yet. I did just get a jogging stroller to take her on long walks when it warms up

Bottom line is though, you're doing the best you can and that is what's best for her. Don't be too hard on yourself. ❤

@santistevanmommie, yeah that's what I try to do. I'm ready for summer so we can go to the pool and stuff. Hopefully she will like it better this year lol

@bria, thank you so much for this ❤️ we had a walker but she couldn't move on the carpet. Which sucks. But I try to play with her toys with her when I can but like you I'm a stay at home mom and it's hard. I'm going to try and figure out a schedule so I can put my attention fully on her because I also help take care of my grandma too so it's stressful trying to keep everyone happy

@bria, her idea of a routine is a really good one. I do that with caleigha. Every morning I dedicate time to just spend with her before I start the cleaning. Whether that be a puzzle or flash cards or coloring or playing.

@santistevanmommie, @megbaby07, thanks girls !!! And yes it's so hard but we make it work we're mothers we are invincible ! And for the walker on carpet try getting the cheap plastic runner (I'm so Italian lmfao) and put it on the rug so she can goooooo

@bria, @santistevanmommie, I've thought about the runner! lol I might actually get one. Usually in the morning she drinks her bottle while I drink my coffee lol and we play in the mornings but after that I'm having to run around lol

Me too. Try including her in cleaning. Of course only the things she could handle bit caleigha loves helping

lol caleigha takes the dishes out of the dishwasher as I put them in. She also takes clean clothes and runs with them lol

@santistevanmommie, luckily we don't use our dish washer or Kacey would do the same lol but the clothes I can relate! Lol she unfolds all of them and pulls them off and takes off
