How long have you mommies kept your babies in your rooms with you? I know I've read it's safer for them to be with you to help against SIDS I just wasn't sure in the length of time, I was thinking like a year? My ex is trying to use him not having his own room against me, but he will have his own room once we remodel our upstairs which should be done by the time he's 1. But my mom is saying she'd even move upstairs now just so he has his own room and my ex Can't say shit!

My doctor said new guidelines from the American pediatric association recommend 6 months up to a year. My son is 9 months and still in our room. I plan to keep him there till he is a year. I'm gonna miss him when it's time to move him to his room! 😣

I know! I just like him being right here where I'm right next to his crib. I was thinking atleast a year also. So he can go shove it. @jaxsonsmama,

Our first (3 years) still in our bed. Our second two (8 weeks) in their crib from day 1.

You're his mama and you know what's best for you and your baby. Don't let anyone bully you into moving him before you're comfortable with it! @missjess,

Thank you @jaxsonsmama, I appreciate it.

@missjess if you want to move him to his own room by a year it should be fine by then. He is still so little, I don't see why your ex would even make such a stupid remark? What would the court say, "oh, we're taking custody cause your 6 month old is still in your room with you".. lol. That's ridiculous, he's 6 months old and no one gives a crap about if he's in your room or not, it doesn't hurt him in any way. Tell your ex to take a hike ✋
Jess·
Thank you! @simplyshantell, he's trying to use any little thing against me but really it just shines back on him what a douche he really is. A judge will laugh and see right through this shmuck!

To answer your question also, my son was in my room until he turned 3. We co-slept for the first year, by his first birthday we got him sleep trained to sleep on his own, close to his second birthday he got a big boy bed to sleep in, and we just put him upstairs in his own room 9 months ago. Reason I waited till then was because our master is downstairs and rest of the rooms are on the second level, but even still there is nothing wrong with "sharing" a room with your child, other than if you have some sort of privacy concerns.

Lol yeah, do not let him entertain you with such a bs ludicrous statement. Lol he's desperate to hurt you! He needs to grow up 🤐 @missjess
Jess·
I agree. I think it's fine for him to be with me right now especially since I breastfeed and co sleep a little. And I like him right here with me it's more convenient and I can see him and hear him. @simplyshantell,
Jess·
Yes he is out for a vengeance and doing this all out of spite cause he has to pay child support. And he thinks he's entitled to custody of him cause he has a career. He hasn't even bothered with my son since he's been born he's been here 11 times. 🙄 he's very immature, but yet he tells me I need to grow up lol he's the one acting like a 5 year old not getting his way, cause he has control issues and is a mentally abusive narcissist 😶@simplyshantell,
🌹Shantell🌹·
Lmao!!! The courts favor 50/50 over anything else for the traditional cases. What he doesn't understand is that you're going to have a person (judge) who knows nothing about you guys other than facts deciding the future, making decisions on your lives for you. Judges won't give him custody just because he has a good career and job, haha... you breastfeed! That's automatic favoring for the first year to you, other than that they mostly rule 50/50 time sharing but they might do a 75/25 as well, or assign a couple of days a week to him, whatever your lawyer suggests and you decide if that's the route you are planning on taking. He's so far off the cliff he thinks it's just going to be a cake walk for him doesn't he? Lol. Insane.
🌹Shantell🌹·
You can make it so that he has to come to you and can only spend a few hours a day with the baby a couple times a week just because the baby is so little and depends on you. Career doesn't matter as long as you have a roof over your head, that's WHY he has to pay child support in the first place. @missjess
Jess·
Yes he thinks he's going to go in there and win cause he has a job and a car and no
Pets in his home 🙄😂 Im a good mother and my son is loved and cared for and I'm all he knows. I'm hoping to keep sole custody of the baby as long as possible. And he needs to have supervises visitation outside of my home. He's neglectful of not only my child by letting him sit in a dirty diaper all day and his own vomit but he's neglectful of his daughters by letting them go a week without showering and his house is disgusting. Plus he sleeps with them every night they are with him and they are 8 and 10 years old and that's just creepy. He has an unhealthy obsession with them. @simplyshantell, so he wants to bring it I'm ready guns loaded.
