Any mammas on here know much about tongue tie? Was told when harriet was born that she had a "slight" tongue tie but it was so slight it wasnt worth messing with as it wouldnt cause any problems? But at just over 4 week old boy as it caused some bloody bother! Breast feeding was a no cause she couldnt latch, its very rare she will do longer then 2 hours between feeds but then struggles off a bottle and will only take 1 and a half to 2 ounce? Her wind and reflux are getting worse and she makes clicky noises? All of these signs of tongue tie? BUT because she as put on weight they wont snip it? Any advice would be great girls im thinking of ringing health visitor to speak to her about it as everybody else as fobbed me off

Ask to see your health visitor, she will do the referral for you to the clinic. I was fobbed off by a paediatrician and told there was no tongue tie on my baby and after 6 weeks of poor weight gain it was finally diagnosed by my health visitor and snipped 2 weeks later x

Its sending me loopy at the moment @zoevongriffin because i see her struggling and i no she needs it looking at proper and i just keep being fobbed off! I just no as her mum something isnt right x

I know exactly what you mean! I remember repeatedly asking for it to be checked and being fobbed off! Have you attended a breastfeeding clinic through your local children's centre? They will be able to help you out with positioning and things that also may help

No i just gave up its been the most frustrating time ever! Im going to the childrens centre monday to get her weighed and hopfully speak to a midwife over it all as i cant get hold of my health visitor x
