Any body done a cheap 1st birthday for their LO and by cheap I mean, not go all out?!

My mom lives with an ex bf in a place wayyy smaller than mine and rest of fam lives further out in Florida and in Jersey. I just meant like did anybody NOT do the big cake thing and like the really big bday bash? Like did anyone do something simple for the LOs first bday. I jus feel bad bc i want to do the big bday but don't think we can afford it 😕 @ablaub

We're planning on less than 20 people, a cake that I'm going to attempt to make myself, and bbq.
