Are there any mom's from NJ that know anything about the paperwork filing for disability while you're on maternity…

Yep. I've been on early leave and disability since I was 20 weeks. I'm in NJ. Oh shoot but unfortunately my case was NY since I work there. Just remembered 😞

I'm just wondering if the paperwork gets filed after you begin your leave. I know I'm starting my leave March 13th so I wasn't sure if I should submit the paperwork now or wait until I start the actual leave. I've gotten so many contradicting answers lol.

I'd start it now. My friend and dad both had to wait months for their disability to be approved and to get any money.

@nomaci I like to be ahead of things so I was hoping to start it now, but then someone told me you have to wait so I got confused.

My father's wasn't for pregnancy, obviously, but my friend was. She went out super early, though, at maybe 3 months. I'm pretty sure her disability didn't come in until she was almost 7 months.

@nomaci Yikes I really do not want to wait that long! I'll probably just submit it now anyway. The worst that can happen is they say I have to wait.
