Looking for some feedback about our daycare experience so far. This is Davyn's third week in and he's come home twice now with scratches on his face. This time they said a 1 year old was in the room that usually isn't in there. I've noticed when I've picked him up that they must combine the rooms as the number of kids thins out. There's not more than 5 babies ever, including Davyn, when I pick him up.
1. How often do you expect your baby to come home with an injury from day care? I expect it to some extent, but how much is too much?
2. Is it common practice to combine rooms like that? Should a 1 year old be in the infant room?

Yes, it is common practice for short intervals but shouldn't be all day. That's not okay to either of those. I work in childcare and your child should not be coming home with scratches at two months old!!! most mom's would raise hell at my childcare unit, I'm surprised you didn't lol

I have a 2 month old his dad watches him in the am while i work and then his dad works in evenings..I personally cut and file my son's nails..he scratches his face at times light so we make sure to watcg his hands.i have 2 older son's who went thru daycare..no most 1 yr old s are never where the newborns are.put little mittens on him if he still comes home w a scratch...i Would be Upset and speak w supervisor or she ll have matching scratches..

@sarahbelle, my husband picked him up today or else something definitely would have been said. We're going to talk to them about it tomorrow.

@sherrynygirl, I wish we didn't have to put him through it! Hoping it's temporary. My mom is retiring this year and will be able to watch him then. We're definitely going to be talking to them about it.

@whitneyp .when my middle son was 1 yr half. I put him in daycare down the st from my job within 1 month he got bit on cheek 2x and they couldn't tell me what kid did it.i know accidents happens
Buy.my son. Was not staying there waiting for more bites.i pulled him out fast

My son has been in a daycare/learning center since he was 2 months old. They never let an older child in the room. They actually split the baby room with a wall/gate. Every once in a while he comes home with a scratch but he did it himself. Now that he is pulling up and side scooting on everything he has bumped his a head a few times.
