I've read to them it sounds like they're underwater. They can tell mom's and dad's voice. Usually will turn toward mom or a female voice. At first the hear your heartbeat and insides. Then they hear your voice muffled. It's never very clear their inner ear just develops more.

It's not as loud as you'd think. You can go to concert pregnant (I don't think they recommend you sit right in front of a speaker) and you know how loud those are. I mean he'll definitely be able to hear something. Probably not clearly but even muffled you could pick up on a beat.
