I need some advice! I'm EBF and my daughter did great at first but now towards the end of her feedings, she pulls away from the nipple and starts screaming her head off and is inconsolable. I know its not lack of milk because she has several dirty diapers a day and is gaining weight really well, I also check by hand expressing and it flows right out. Switching sides doesn't help. It seems like she's in pain? I burp her several times while feeding but sometimes it only makes her scream more. But then she starts gnawing on her hands like she's still hungry so I'll offer her the boob and she'll frantically latch again for a few seconds and then turn and scream again. I also don't think it's a fast let down because she does it after she's been eating a while and this seems to be worse in the evening. HELP!

maybe something you're eating isn't agreeing with her. I see a lot of mama's say their ebf babes have dairy intolerance. maybe try cutting out some things one at a time and see if it might be something you're eating that's making her tummy upset?

@octobermamma I can try that but I don't really eat/drink a lot of dairy. I'll try cutting it out completely and see if it helps. But if it were making her tummy upset, wouldn't she be gassy? Or no?

i was just using dairy as an example, mama! have you added anything new to your diet recently? has this been since birth? a new problem?

It might be acid reflux (GERD). Pretty common. My son did the same thing and so did lots of my other friends' babies. Go see the pediatrician and they can check it out and give you anti acid med if needed. Helped us a ton!
