I'm weaning my baby girl from breastfeeding and going to formula at 3 months old. She's not wanting to take the boob and I can't afford a breast pump, I've been literally hand expressing since she was a week old and now every time I express, my hands cramp up.

Do you have medical insurance? If so, call to find out if they cover the cost of a breast pump.

What about a manual pump?? They're not too expensive

@ginz I don't have insurance right now and the one I had wouldn't cover it unless I was working

@shellbell0391 I'm literally flat broke, can only afford her diapers, wipes, and formula (I get formula through wic)

Ask your WIC office about breastfeeding benefits. I read they can provide a breast pump.

Wic also gives pumps that's where I got mine.

How about meeting with a Lactation Nurse? WIC offers help with in that area too right? They can observe you nursing and provide help. If WIC doesn't, contact the hospital you gave birth at and see what their lactation nurses offer. Don't lose hope if breastfeeding is what you want to do.
