Thoughts/personal opinions on tummy sleeping for naps while you're in the room? I know what the pediatricians say I want…

I haven't done it yet too paranoid lol and my bed is way too soft and she doesn't like her crib yet so she has been sleeping in a floor swing.

My baby started sleeping on her stomach when she was very lil I'd try to put her on her back but wasn't too successful, I never let her nap alone, she's 10 months already and still sleeps like that once in a while, eventually she learned to move her lil head to the side, I guess as long as you feel it's safe and comfortable for you and baby, it's honestly up to your judgement ☺️

@raquely, somehow my little one does the same, I sleep skin to skin with him and he just wants tummy time ... did it ever change?

At night my daughter slept on her back... but during naps I put her on her tummy and switched which side her head was facing... they did that even in the NICU with her... now I always had my sids monitor on her (Snuza) so I never really worried about it... at almost 20 months she still prefers to sleep like that!

@raquely, @dreamermom, thank you - I might not worry than bc that's the only way he sleeps and everything else makes him wake up after 30min.

I might look Into 'snuza' bc he still is sooo small and I am a pretty deep sleeper even when he is on top of me.

Girl both my kids slept on they tummies by 6 weeks old. Started off on backs, and tummy napping, then full on stomach sleeping. From a medical standpoint this discussion goes back and forth every 10 yrs or so. They switch back and forth from put them on they back, to put them on they stomach. SIDS is also not just associated to stomach sleeping numerous cases of babies dying of SIDS while on they back. I also make sure nothing in crib, I don't cosleep, and use a firm mattress. Other then that, I never even worried about it.

Thank you ladies! We'd always slept on our backs and my nephews as well. Now that I'm pregnant and I have a little niece I was curious because she sleeps so much better on her tummy
