HELP: I have to let my milk dry up cause unfortunately I just found out my son is lactose intolerant so I have to put him on soy formula well today is my first day of not pumping and my boobs HURT!!! What can I do to help the pain go away??? And how can I get the milk to dry up faster?
@dawnrose ur welcome...the doctor actually just called me back n said to alternate between breastmilk n formula because the breast milk has so much good nutrition
@shellymakuk93, my dr said the same thing that too much soy will cause man boobs but maybe the formula is a little different.
You don't have to dry up. Just take something to help digestion with milk or go lactose free yourself. Oh and boys shouldn't have soy. It can actually give them female parts(boobs i guess, gynocomastia).
aww thanks for responding... hope your boobs feel better... you probably could pump a couple times a day and slow down to not pumping until your milk dries up. you can donate the milk you do pump.
@dawnrose @morganmommy79 everytime he drank my breastmilk like 5 mins after he would be in so much pain so the doctor said since my 2 yr only could take soy formula he was probably the same way so I tried the soy formula n he hasn't had any crying spells after eating
I dampened a bath towel and froze it and then put it across my chest. Idk if it really did anything though, but I felt better
You might try cutting dairy from your diet.
