Honestly with the last baby (my first) everything was new to me. I never experienced anything. No labor or delivery etc. But i was like you i didnt want an epidural but i didnt know my pain tolerance for labor so i went in thinking i wont get it but if i need it then its there for me. I ended up being induced so contractions were way worst then normal labor contactions (the dr told me this) so at 3cm i got my epidural. Just go in knowing you dont want it but if for some reason you change your mind its there. Also if you change your mind and get it dont wait to last minute to tell your nurse you want it cause if the anesthesiologist is backed up you will have to wait.

The recovery time is quicker. The only thing I didnt like was that I couldnt fully enjoy the birth. My contractions were hard and i had to concentrate a lot and keep distracted from the pain. It was still a good experience and I wouldn't change it but I feel like women who get epidurals fully enjoy their birth because theyre not delirious and exhausted from pain

My first was natural, no epidural. I was however IV fed meds that helped ease contractions while I dilated. As I continued to dilate, contractions grew stronger but it was too late to get an epidural. I have a high pain tolerance but I wasn't mentally prepared for labor pains. It hurt and traumatized me for a long time. My labor was such a blur and wasn't as enjoyable as I imagined.
With my second, epidural was part of my birth plan. I enjoyed the experience so much more. I felt alert and more aware of what was going on. I could remember every detail.
Recovery for both was the same. I was up and walking shortly after birth. If I had to do it a third time, I would definitely get the epidural.

I had planned to go natural. At 6cm I begged for an epidural and then the doctor came to check me and suddenly I was 10cm and it was time to push. Transitional labor (right before pushing) was the worst pain. Pushing her out honestly didn't hurt as bad as I had expected. As soon as she was here my pain stopped. I'm so happy I ended up going natural. I felt everything, but I was aware and the body has a way of numbing itself. I wouldn't change it for the world. My next child I'm going to plan on going natural as well.

I gave birth unassisted with my husband no doctor no midwife no pain medication. My labor was quick no complications the contractions were intense but not painful I believe pain is a perspective and I prepared myself mentally . during the labor I felt overwhelmed by the energy I was experiencing and was hard to concentrate on anything else . with natural labor you have to give yourself to a higher power let go and doubt is a natural part of the process that you have to overcome . The only true pain that I felt was in my thighs the moment I was trying to birth my baby if I had worked out during my pregnancy I don't think I would have felt that pain and that pain was the only thing stopping me from giving birth to my baby but I prayed and called out for help from the spirits or higher power and they helped me immediately the next moment my baby's head came out and all the pain and intensity was gone . It is one of the most spiritually profound and intense experiences I was delirious after giving birth but I thoroughly enjoyed my daughter's birth and I would do it over again and again
