Idk why people who aren't military spouses glorify being a military spouse. I see my family once a month, maybe every two months and that's lucky. Coming from a big family with 4 siblings that still live at home, it hurts to leave every time. I'm so happy I got to make it home for my brothers 8th birthday, but upset I missed seeing my dad because he doesn't live near my mom. I have it easy though for now until my husband deploys. So next time you think how great it would be to be a military wife, think about everything we give up.... ps I gave up my job for his also. I love him very much but it isn't all roses

I commend military moms...my mom voiced the same things as you when she was with my dad( marine). She felt she had no life of her own, every time she got settled they had to move. Then of course us kids didn't get a chance to grow up with our cousins, grandparents, aunts, and uncles. Stay strong momma...I am thankful for your and your husbands sacrifices for this country no matter how crazy things seem.

My husband was one of 5 kids in a military family. He was born in England, moved to Spain, and then to the states where he proceeded to move again and again. My SIL is still on a base, married to a Chief and that poor family has moved so many times and now their kids are close to high school age and there's talk of them being moved overseas or h being deployed. She's heartbroken. I feel for you, it's a hard life and we don't do enough as a country for our military families.

My husband is in the Navy and I would give anything up to be with him, I love him so much. People think we have it good. I'm like no hunny not really.

@emileemoreland, yes girl! I'm sorry you barely get to see them. It's so hard what we give up sometimes. My husband is navy also and will pretty much be gone June-next April, then deploys. On top of that, I'll have 2 under 2, no friends here and no family 😔

I totally get it! My husband is Air Force and LUCKILY we are stationed semi close to family. But as you know things change at the drop of the hat. Hubby got a new position and within a week moved to his new office and his new position has him traveling every single month. Mind you I am just a few shorts week away from a C section 😩 Luckily no deployments right now but he just got back from being gone for a year. He has been in for almost 18 years but he is in it for the long haul so we have several years left. It can be a hard life but it's an extremely rewarding life and I wouldn't change it for anything! But I do think a lot of folks truly don't understand what we go through!
