What are some signs of teething? And when do babies start teething? I know it's different for every baby. My sons been gnawing on his hands and my fingers, and is biting down pretty hard. But I looked in his mouth and there aren't any bumps, no swelling on his gums anywhere either. He's also been drooling excessively when his hands are in his mouth.

@rari, your baby is teething. They can start pretty early. My son started chewing on his hands at about 2 months, at 4.5 he got his first tooth and his second one within another week.

It can happen early. My son started at about 4 months and got his first tooth when he was 7 months. They can shows signs long before a tooth pops up. He could be teething and he could also be exploring his hands. It's probably teething though.
