Warning: drama alert. Very long.
Warning: drama alert. Very long.
Mamas, I have been fighting the urge to break down crying for the past several hours. So much so that I now have a headache because of it. My heart and soul just feel absolutely broken.
It started with a large group I'm a part of on facebook. It's just a fun place to go and share silly things with people all over the world. Today, I happened to run across someone in the group saying how his sister just found out she's pregnant. Her scum boyfriend left her after she told him, so now she doesn't know whether or not she wants to keep the baby.
Ladies, when I read this, something in my heart just snapped. I became on fire for this lady and her baby and knew I wanted more than anything to help them. I am very well connected in the pro-life community, so I told the brother that I would love to help his sister find out what resources she has in her area, be it a crisis pregnancy center or a maternity home. I even told him I would send his sister things myself if need be. Something in my heart just kept telling me I need to help this girl, she needs my help. Even still, I feel an overwhelming desire to make sure this woman and her precious baby have everything they need to both be alright.
So this other chick comments and says something like "yeah, and if your sister needs someone to take her to the abortion clinic and protect her from all the pro-life bible thumpers, tell her to contact me." I can't even express to you how offended I was, and how much my blood was absolutely boiling. First of all, how the hell did this turn into some kind of political agenda?? I was just trying to help the girl know what resources she has available in her area, not stuff propaganda down her throat. I'm not even a bible thumper, for God's sake. And why does me trying to help her figure out how to keep her pregnancy make me pro-life? Do pro-choice people not help pregnant women or something? Do I HAVE to be pro-life to care about a woman and her baby?? Needless to say, I lashed back and made it very clear that not only was I not trying to stuff propaganda down anyone's throat, but I was also not trying to turn this into a political debate.
I had run across this offensive woman before. She is one of those kinds of people who does not ask you about what your opinion is, she assumes. She has all these little boxes that she puts people in. She assumes what you think so that you can fit inside her little mental box, and God forbid you exhibit a trait that goes against what she assumes of you. That just can't be allowed.
I know there's this huge stigma behind being pro-life, but I don't fit that generic idea of a pro-life person. I have done research on the issue and know my stuff. I know how important it is to love a woman no matter if she keeps her baby or not. There's no judgement coming from me when I meet a woman who is post abortive, and I just don't think people can wrap their minds around that. It breaks my heart to hear about a baby getting aborted, but that doesn't make me think less of the mother. It absolutely irks me for that woman to sit there and say all these untrue things about me when I am obviously the only one who is willing to actually get off their ass and try to help the poor mother in question. It just makes me want to break down and cry to be slandered against and ridiculed for genuinely trying to help someone. I just feel so empty right now, and I will probably end up crying myself to sleep over it. I'm not usually this emotional about things, but I guess the pregnancy hormones are controlling my emotions today. That and I also feel inexplicably connected to this woman and her baby. I hope after a good night's sleep I will be able to be refreshef and have a clear mind. I don't know how to explain it, but I really just feel like it is so important that this woman keep her baby. I guess everything will work itself out in time.
If you've made it all the way to the end of this post, thanks for bearing with me. Y'all are the best.

People are ass holes, don't let people like that ruin your night to the point where you're crying that's not ok, you did the right thing regardless of what anyone said while everyone else probably kept scrolling you went out of your way to offer your time to help this lady that says a lot of you as a person 💕
