Dumb question here but can someone tell me exactly what spotting is??

small amount of blood not enough to be a period could happen anytime or any reason

So we've been trying for about 6 months now usually although my period shows up when ever she wants I know all her tell tale signs:

Cramping (from bad to bending over)

Leg pain

And when she decides to rear her ugly head she comes with a force.

Today I noticed brown this morning and during the day only spots of blood when I use the bathroom but thats it.

I'm trying not to get my hopes up and I dont know if I should even take a test
