@_maria, it sounds like you have a forceful letdown. Get laid back nursing. Or express and get your let down before you latch him on.
.5-1 ounce per hour. So if she's eating every 2 hours then 2 ounces. Make sure to pace feed, this is veryyyyyy important!!!! @_maria,
My daughter didn't do that, so I don't want to give any bad advise. Hopefully after a couple of weeks of trying he stops doing that.
my milk flows pretty fast, but every time i try to latch him on he will suck, but after like 3 to 5 sucks he'll stop, or he'll pull away & act like hes gasping for air & make this snorting sound & start crying & he will do that multiple times while we're trying @cyrenabraham
That's the same with me. In my case I guess my nipples were too big and she would try as she might but wouldn't latch on. The thing is keep trying every day. Eventually she was like, "I'm going to get this milk!" And her suction was spot on. Once that happens your milk will flow fast and better because your body knows that your baby needs it. At first I pumped all the bloody time. But eventually I kept listening to the lactate specialist from the hospital and just kept trying everyday.
2 ounces at a time. But if she's breast feeding then there's no way to measure it. Just make sure you are doing skin to skin often. It helps make more breast milk and your baby will hear your heart beat which will smooth and calm her. If your pumping, 2 -4 ounces but make sure you burp her. Babies don't have real problems with the burping area when it's breast milk but you should still try
what is pace feeding ? @chelseaepley i have tried laying back for nursing & it seems that it doesnt help at all 😔 thats basically why ive stuck to just pumping & bottle feeding. he seems more comfortable with it too, but sometimes when im not at home i wish i could just latch him on instead of pumping ahead of time when we go out 😔
