my son was spitting up really bad too, then his doctor switched his formula to Enfamil AR (it's got rice already mixed into it, which makes it thicker for babies who spit up a lot)... if you get Wic, have your baby's doctor write a note/fill out a paper for you to bring them so they'll switch it for you..... you can also ask about putting the baby on zantac... it helped my son a lot.
