Mommas! How important is a nursery or crib? I live in a single bedroom apartment and I have a few options. I can turn our walk in closet into a nursery or just share our bedroom with baby. We currently sleep on a king that's supported by our old queen mattress & box spring, bedding from wall to wall. I was thinking baby could sleep beside us on the queen portion of the bed. Or we could get a box spring for the king and use the side space for a crib. I'm cleaning up and setting up for pix that I'll post in comments.

I know this is way late! My husband and I co sleep with a travel bassinet (only thing we had) it's a little tight but it's an option, we are soon converting her to her pack and play to see how she does, just so that she's in the same room but we will be able to get our bed back! We have a crib but she hasn't used it at all. It's only used for overflow.

Have you heard of a Snuggle Nest? It's basically a little bassinet that you put in the bed with you, we love ours and never use the crib now(except for storing baby things!) I would definitely recommend you look into a Snuggle Nest or something similar. I really love co sleeping because it makes nighttime feelings so much easier if you breastfeed. I got mine at Target! I hope this helps!

Lol It's the love of a momma! My cousin said something that made a bunch of sense: What other mammal do you know has a baby and doesn't nurture it by sleeping with it?

Yeah! I didn't even care for a crib this time. I have a bassinet. Which they grow out of faster than you'd hope. And lol yeah mine has had her own room for years. She used it as a play room and would take naps in it but never to sleep. Mainly cuz I was a weenie and wanted her w me lol

<3 Thank you @leahsmommi I am definitely hearing that cribs aren't used as often as mommy's had hoped they would. (I know one momma who is completely against me not having a crib but with her first born, I know she co-slept. He was about 5yrs old when he got his own room & a normal bed...his bed was nicer than mine! It seemed like a fantastic idea to me...buy only one bed! They'll be fine...he was at least.)

I had a crib. Used it only in the day time and let her sleep in the bed w me. I'm not totally for it because she six and I'm just now getting her used to sleeping in her own room only because baby number 2 is on her way. Her dad works nights so I didn't mind in the least.

My sister-in-law just tried to ream my ass for asking this same question on Facebook! She warned: Do NOT co-sleep!!! Do not do this, you must have a crib...must, must, must. Just talked to her mom, who said her brat was ignorant :P She co-slept with both her girls! Haha! To be fair, I did ask for opinions and ideas.

I bought a crib but only used it a couple of times. I bought a 'Dock-A-Tot' and we place it on our king size bed. I love it.
