I'm trying to understand when "birth-days"became solely about babies and not about us moms? I'm starting a new tradition as my sons 1 yr birthday approaches. From that day forward birth day cakes are gonna have BOTH our names. I'm not raising a son that doesn't understand how hard it is to be a woman. Specially a PREGNANT woman. I labored for over 72hrs and that was the BOTH of us in labor so we BOTH deserve to celebrate. And this tradition I'm starting goes for all the kids I will have. I also don't believe in throwing huge birthdate parties were all this money is blown away. I like small get togethers with close friends and family. My son doesn't need gifts to be happy. I'm not raising a spoiled brat.
