I've done it with all three kids. I brought my carrier so I could baby wear and have my hands free. Snacks and any toy that crinkles were also life savers.
And I agree with @brookiecookie, at 6 months my kids were way easier. My two year old can't sit still, so we rarely eat out. He doesn't yell or scream, but he always wants to be moving. Lol!
I have a boppy baby chair that I always bring when going out to eat. A lot of restaurants have areas for strollers and their own high chairs, but I HATE public high chairs. I don't know how they've been cleaned and my son doesn't sit right in them. The boppy chair connects to all regular chairs and is very sturdy once tightened up. It has a removable tray attached and also folds up to travel. Highly recommend it!

Yup I normally make sure I bring a bottle and some toys. He gets so fascinated with seeing people that he does really well.
