My daughter went from having to have things put in her hands to grasp them to opening her arms really wide when she sees you offering a toy, then slowly moving them in on it, a couple weeks ago. Today I'm holding her on my lap and she leans over and grabs my pedometer wristband thing off the arm of the couch! Wow! That was a much faster jump than the last one!
