Okay you guys. I have a close friend who is seriously driving me insane right now! Her and her boyfriend are walking around with rings on their left fingers pretending to be married and they're not even engaged, her bf doesn't want to be engaged. WHY it's driving me up the wall because I AM married and it's because of people like her that I get asked "but are you really married" even though I am wearing a wedding band 😒 What would you say?
@akenn28 yeah we don't wear rings either, I hate jewelry, so if we do get married I probably won't wear it all the time lol.
We've talked about it and will, we plan on it. But we love each other more and are happier than most married couples we know. We're happy the way we are at this time. Which is why we don't just go down to the courthouse and do it.
The reason I say is because I honestly have been scolded by older people for having 2 kids and not being married. So to save myself and my children the embarrassment of being harassed in public about it, again and again, I just say husband when referring to him.
I hate getting asked "are you really married?" or when people say "I didn't know y'all were really married, I thought you was just saying that." Like are you serious??! We're grown, this is not a game.
I'm engaged but I hate jewelry so don't wear my ring. instead my SO wears one :)
I just don't understand. Why not just get married? I'm seriously not trying to be rude I just dont get it. My husband and I got married at the court house for 70$. We wanted to be married, we got married. @akenn28,
Have been together and lived together forever not have been married** lol
@brooklynnsmommy, I do that too with mine. We don't wear rings and walk around pretending we're married. But just saying husband is beyond easier than saying boyfriend and then trying to explain that we aren't married but have been and lived together forever and have kids together yada yada 😂
@xomommahicksxo, she begs him to marry her often and he says "it's not the right time" yet he says he wants more children? I'm so lost
I really don't know to be honest. Since we are friends I don't think she def wouldn't say " my husband " to me. But as far as strangers I think they call each other fiancé. I just think it's ridiculous. If you want to be married go get married. If not, don't pretend. @brooklynnsmommy,
do they tell people they are married ? I'm not married but I still call my boyfriend, of 4 years and two kids my husband.
@xomommahicksxo, exactly! Every time I ask her why they aren't married she says "he's not ready" if he's not ready then why are y'all pretending? It just irks me
I just think it's weird and kind of immature. Why pretend if you're not ready to get married? He's 26 walking around pretending to be married. @brooklynnsmommy,
@brooklynnsmommy, same here, and he works in a chemical plant and can't wear one. Lol
