Same happened to me. I called his pedis office and got it. I had to answer a bunch of questions about him so they knew I was his mom since I didn't have ID.

But you'll have to cancel it. Because a persons credit can be ruined with a stollen social security number.

You don't have to get him a new social security number. If someone tries to open a credit card under his social, it will kick back that it is a child and they won't be able to use it! There's no possible way to open a credit card or anything of the such with a child's social security number. @brookiecookie,

I mean you can, but it's really hard. You have to know a lot of info about that child. Info that a random person probably wouldn't know. But I guess if someone was a shitty parent and want to open one in their child's name, someone probably could.

Not arguing at all...but think about when people's identity is stolen, they have to get all that info somehow no matter their age. I would assume it's probably parents that more do that than anyone. Seems like identity thieves go after the elderly or dead and sometimes children.@chelseaepley

someone stole my gma identity in Florida and opened a macys credit card. 4 years later and she's still dealing with all of it and can't open anything herself now.
