Okay moms! I lead worship at my church so everyone knows me and knows I'm pregnant. Well they're all super excited about the baby and to get to hold him/her but I don't want anyone but family and super close family friends to hold the baby for the first few months. What is a good way to deal with those people to let them know they won't be holding my child for quite awhile without sounding super ugly? Thanks for any advice!!

You might end up changing your mind. I thought I would be the same way when my son got here but I have such a huge family and friends that it was a joy for me to see them hold him. However. You could try wearing the baby or having your husband wear baby during service. People are less likely to ask to hold the baby when s/he's all tangled up against your chest. They're also less like to get in the baby's face because of how close they are to you.

Just explain to them that you're trying to minimize baby's exposure to germs until he/she gets their shots. As long as you say it in a nice calm tone you will be fine. The overly sensitive drama starters are going to say something no matter what

You say or how "nice" you say it.

Church groups can be difficult because they want to love them and hold them and it gets overwhelming. It helped me to keep him in his car seat or baby wear, something that people can look at them, but not touch or ask to hold.
