Other than using a stern voice when telling them no and taking things away from them, there's not a whole lot you can do. They're too young to understand consequences. They're too young to gently tap their hands if they're doing something wrong. You just have to remove them from whatever it is they're doing wrong over and over and over again. My 16 month old doesn't respond to no very well, he just laughs, but I keep telling him no and eventually it'll click.

i don't agree. i don't feel they are to young for consequences. children are smarter than people think. i would pop his little hand once with a stern no. cause right now he thinks its a game that you 2 are playing. just my opinion

I popped my son when he was a year old and did time out. They are a lot smarter then what we give credit for sometimes. The older they get the more they will test you. Everyone is different and uses different methods of discipline. Finds what works for you and stick with that. Good luck.

I say no don't throw your bottle on the floor and he just looks at me and throws it and I see red. 😒

I pop my son, he throws a bottle, I pop his hand, he hits I pop his hand, he recently had started trying to bite me and I'll pop his mouth and I tell him no ever time. Of course it is repetitive you can't say no once and expect them to stop. If he does it and you pop him once every time after that you have to pop him when he does it.

My daughter does the same! I call her my little monster. lol I smack her hand and she laughs at me and continues to throw food on the floor or sit in the cats head. lol I think it's just the age and stage.
