-ADVICE NEEDED- Girls does any of you have a Lactose intolerant baby? If so what symptoms did your baby have and how long did it take to get a diagnosis? Has the change of milk made a difference to your baby & if so how?
@mimibear, I'm going to take him to the doctors he seems to be getting worse each day ( he wakes up with a smile as he's a happy baby) but as the day gets on and he has more food he gets tense and stiff and cries for no reason & it seems to be going straight through him I've gone through 5 vests today from explosive nappies 😩 my poor baby it's so hard seeing him like this xx
it definitely sounds like he could have it. none of my other siblings have this but my mum has just been diagnosed after years of suffering and wrong diagnosis of ibs. you can always trial him on the lactose free milk, I know you can buy it at boots and if you think it's made a difference then go to the doctor etc. my sister in law kept a diary to show the doctor as her little one was pooping upto 12 times a day and his poops were explosive. x
@mimibear, lactose intolerance runs in my family see, I haven't got it but my dad brother and nan does. He's not a sicky baby but his poo is very watery after feeds and he's constantly got wind no matter how much I wind him he just seems stiff and passes wind all the time! I've tried all the techniques like baby massage etc but I'm sure it's his milk! He's a very content baby hardly cries but he's just seems to be getting more and more whingey as the oz are going up if that makes sense it's like he's straining in pain?🙄 but other than that he's a happy baby! Sorry to go on and on I just wanted some advice xxx
Yeah basically Evelyn is allergic to the protein in milk but with lactose intolerance it's the lactose sugar. they have very similar symptoms but lactose intolerance is not common in younger children x
Evelyn has a milk protein allergy, she would scream after every feed, have terrible wind and bloated belly and awful reflux. my doctor put her on prescription milk immediately and I noticed a difference after a couple of days. my nephew who is now two months old has just been diagnosed with the same and he's so much better on the milk too
