My family is up here and kept feeding my step kids junk food and my husband asked me to ask them to ask him first before giving them food and they got offended and mad at me. On my son's first birthday.

No. Their just watchin out for their kid... on the other hand, id never feed a small child anything without talking to the parent first. Allergies and choking are scary things to mess with.
