I have never bought a pair of walking shoes before.

I meant like a pair of shoes that have more than the soft bottoms lol @beebaby,

My kids wore Nike shoes they were 1 but when they were walking at 9 months I very rarely put shoes on them at all in guess is what I'm tryna say.

I felt the same way until I would by a pair and he only wear em twice before they didn't fit anymore. I would buy the size up if you do. I'm just speaking on my experience because I was a stay at home mom and didn't do too much.

Closest thing to bare feet is best. I worked for Stride Rite for 7 years and still recommend them to everyone. They have specific styles for different stages of walking. They can get pricey but the quality is amazing. You don't want them to try walking in stiff bottoms or they won't develop feet muscles as well. Like @beebaby said, bare feet!! At least around the home.
