How many of you mommies still have your cats around the house while having a new born? My ob doctor…

I've been wondering how my baby (my cat) will deal with the baby also. He's a sweet cat but really needy and will throw tantrums when upset n scratch us and run away. I'm scared he's gonna hurt my baby one day 😞 but I've had him since he was like 4 weeks old I'll be sad

I kept my cat no one told me to get rid of my cat. The only problem was the litter box so I just switched chores with my husband. @crystalcelestee My cat is suppppeerrrrrr clingy as well and I thought he was going to be really mad when we came home woth her but he gave us our space for 2 weeks and he'll come by when she's crying and check on her. And we kept his claws trimmed so yea

I have my cat still and he was around my first and is now around my newborn.

I had 4 cats around my daughter when she was born until about 8 months because I moved and they were my uncles. 3 of them just ignores her but the one was her best friend and still is. He would always check on her and if her heard her crying and we didn't go to her right away he would come and get me to make sure I took care of her. I guess it all depends on the cat

my ob told us the same thing and we did. both my kids now are allergic to.cats so we would have had to anyway

@denise1493, that how I am too, I love my cats so much but I'm closer to just one of them which is my male cat (tiger) he's super friendly and sweet around strangers..I just hope he gets along with my new born..

Yeah that the problem the litter box I'm going to need to tell my husband to move it somewhere else, and OMG that so cute! My cats are very friendly and nice well my male cat is lol just when my friend come over he wants to be with them he's super nice with other people I hope he is friendly with my new born when he comes 💕😩 @happy2haveu,

I have 2 cats both boys. we had them before my daughter was born. my daughter adores them. they were always good with her. now she's 2 and pulls their tails and lays on them and they just let her. They've never hurt her. They've been awesome and I'm sure they will be when my new baby comes to. just make sure you don't let the cats sleep in your newborns crib or anything because I have heard stories of cats trying to lay on babies faces. it never happened with me but better safe then sorry.

My cat got protective and he stays near them and look at me when they cry like i am hurting them. @crystalcelestee

@mommysarah7, awe so adorable! 💕 I have 2 females and 1 male cat he is the sweetest cat very lovable around people the other 2 they always hide lol but yes I have heard stories like that..we don't plan on having the cats in our room when our baby comes home they are going to stay in the living room but not in our room🙂

:) thanks. I'm sure your cats will be fine. I just love my cats and would never want to get rid of them. my husband went to both of my cats when we took my daughter home for the first time from the hospital and had a stern talk with them lol to never hurt our baby or they would have to leave. they are smart and they listened.

I think the only unsafe thing of cats and newborns is that if the cat is fat it could crush the baby but other than that you should be fine!!! They're your babies too! I have 3 and I'm having my son in June and no one will tell me to get rid of em' ❤️🐱🐱🐱
