I tell u what I'm debating on keeping our names to ourselves until close to the baby's birth. I kno it happens to everyone and there is always gonna be one person who doesn't like a name but my husband gets swayed by ppl was too easily and especially his mom who doesn't want a name she can't make a cute nickname out of but honestly a nickname doesn't have to even do with the childs name and I'm naming my child that name for a reason if I wanted them called something different then I'd name them different (yes I am okay with nicknames and I probably will give one to my child I just don't think it's a necessity when naming a child to also pick their name to have a cute nickname) idk just ranting to make me feel better lol

You can still have a cute nickname for a child even a f their names are different. My one daughters name is Jessiana and we call her "mama bear" or "bear" and that's nothing close to her name. My littlest daughters name is Aubriella we call her "monkey" "monkey butter" "monkey butt" and "Rue Rue" and those aren't close to her name either lol you name your baby what you want too. And if I were you I would just act like you are unsure what your are naming the baby even to your husband until the very last minute just so he doesn't get influenced by his mom. Good luck

@mommy_of_04 That's what I said too the nickname doesn't have to be anything to do with the actual name either. He'll my mom called me silly Lilly growing up and that's nothing to do with my actual name and it later got shortened to Lil. my nicknames for my God daughters have nothing to do with their names either. I'm not sure I'm gonna wait that long cuz we r set on the girls name and the boys name we were set on now we're set between 3. But I just feel like I may wait a while until I do

Remember - this is YOUR CREATION and you're going to give him his identity for life!! It should be what you feel in your heart is his name. Let your mom call him whatever cute nickname. YOU and his daddy are the only ones whose opinions matter 😉😁

@mrsgraffiti I kno that and that's what I told my husband just cuz some say this doesn't mean anything. I'm not letting it get to me I just think keeping it to myself until close will just be less stress
