My baby is 6 weeks old and still only drinking 1.5 - 2 oz of milk every 2-3hrs. When i try to give her more she throws up. Is this normal?
Babies can also have allergies and things like that too so your pediatrician would have to look at her. Every baby is different. He may think otherwise and give her something to clear it up. You never know.
@rmarte, my baby does that once in a while as well. The syringe doesn't help. Her pediatrician says shes fine and that since shes so new her system is still adjusting. I asked when she was a month and a half. I am always concerned a little more than normal for her breathing bcuz ive always had lung issues. My lungs are actually on steroids. But for now what shes doing seems normal. Ide keep doing wat your doing and if she starts to sound worse take her to the ER asap. But otherwise ide bring it up to her pediatrician on Monday💖💕💖💕💖
I want to ask you another question, totally unrelated. My daughter sounds like she has nose and chest congestion (mostly chest) i used the bulb syringe regularly but it doesnt make much of a difference just clears up the nose a bit. I always lay her on her side to sleep but yesterday she took a nap laying on her back and let out two big screams mid nap. When i picked her up her body was super stiff and she was opening her eyes really wide. I took the syringe and sucked out saliva from her mouth and she calmed down but im scared shitless that it will happen again and the chest congestion is still there, i hear it when she breathes. Her doctors appt is not until Monday. You always respond to my concerns so i thought id ask, do you know what this could be? @heera,
@rmarte, if shes trying to skip a feeding then gently take your finger and rub under her chin and gently rub her cheek or pat her on the rear to get her to keep suckling. Thats what I do with my baby's when they are this age. Even with my two month old now if she falls asleep while eating i will patt her little butt gently and she'll keep suckling. Then when I know shes had a good amount if she falls asleep after that I'll unlatch her and put her to bed. Same goes for if your bottle feeding :)
She is gaining weight so i guess i shouldn't worry but lately she would skip feedings or just stop after half an ounce and fall asleep 😞 @heera,
Oh man 😯 that makes me feel a bit better, i thought there was something wrong. @theirmommy20
Every baby is different. But with my experience my baby was like that as well. As long as shes gaining weight and seems satisfied she should be fine but if your worried always ask her pediatrician if your really concerned. Now my baby is 2 months old and she cant go past 4-5 ounces without exploding and puking it up. So baby knows her limits lol...if i try to give her more than that she will puke. And thats every 2-3 hours for her as well. When she was 6 weeks old she was drinking a little more than 2oz tho. But like i said every baby is different ☺️💖
Your very welcome!! 💖💕💖💕💖
